Canadian - WWI Memorial Plaque - Ostrander - 27th Battalion CEF - KIA 21st Middlesex Regiment and the460366 Private Norman Ostrander was born in Aylmer, Elgin County, Ontario. He initially joined the 61st Battalion CEF at Winnipeg in August 1915. Transferred to the 27th Battalion (City of Winnipeg) he served in that battalion until being killed in action 21 August 1917. He is commemorated on the Vimy Memorial. Ostrander's entry in the Canadian Virtual War Memorial has a photo of him as well as some other biographical information.
