Red-headed Woodpecker Balsa Ornament animals Approximate size: 4 1/4" wideYou guessed it, the red headed woodpecker gets its name from its red head. These birds have a black and white coloring and when they fly, they look like a checkerboard. They are expert hunters of insects, but will eat fruit, berries, nuts, spiders and earthworms. Made out of sustainably harvested balsa wood, these lightweight ornaments are hand carved and then painted with non toxic acrylic paint by a cooperative of skilled artisans on Isla
