I loved spending time in their flower gardens and walking around their peaceful hilltop property overlooking a beautiful valley and lake

I painted this towards the end of the summer

Working directly from nature allowed me to respond to the shifting light and atmosphere of the gorge while conveying the scale and quiet grandeur of this remarkable landscape
