The tail on the bottom deck is inlayed with a strip of abalone shell from Northern California

It's made from broken skateboard decks collected in Santa Cruz and laminated together with reclaimed purple heart and black walnut by Upcycled Skate Art

We incorporated more species and sources of reclaimed and salvaged woods from the Ventana Upcycle Partners than any Ventana board to date

The bottom deck uses redwood burl driftwood collected in Big Sur as the holdfast for the kelp

The lighter wood comes from spruce offcuts from the Santa Cruz Guitar Company. The old growth redwood is from a deck railing from a home overlooking Seacliff Beach in Capitola, CA that was built in the 1920s.
