Yuri has boldly signed across the bottom white portion of his helmet. The date inscribed below his signature is in an unknown hand. Gagarin preferred to sign photos of himself in military uniform, hand signed photos of Gagarin in his space suit are highly uncommon and it is rare to find a signed photo from him relating to the Vostok 1 mission. Gagarin
