I will need to know the thickness of your door and the distance the latch needs to span

5 inches tall (including the ring at top) and 2 inches across

I forge the main body out of mild steel with high carbon steel forge welded on the bottom side for the cutting edge

I got the idea to make these horseshoe hinges while visiting some historic early 1800s log cabins in the Great Smokey Mountains of North Carolina

Hand forged decorative door hinges Finish:Oil I will need to knowThis is a set of three decorative hand forged door hinges. I forge these in a coal forge with hammer at the anvil. I split the end of the hinges by hand with a chisel while the steel is hot. This gives them a unique hand done look that is not present when cut with a band saw.
