It has a tone that is not as bright and expressive. Not as sweet as spruce, but a little darker and earthier. It plays well at all volumes. The wood will darken to a butterscotch color with age and exposure to light. We recover our Port Orford Cedar on the Southern Oregon Coast. The areas that the trees are removed from are replanted with new trees making this a very eco
