Antique Japanese Meiji/Edo 1800's Inbako Tansu Suzuribako For Inkan Stamps 6"x4" Woodblock Measures 7 1/4" in diameterThis is a Japanese antique Meiji or Edo Era (1800's) Japanese Inbako used for holding inhan signature stamps. This tiny tansu is made of solid Keyaki (zelkova Japanese elm) on all outside faces. The metal hardware bronze finished with burnt lacquer. The method of construction as well as the bronze work on this chest help date it to the mid to late 19th century.
